U99's Six Data Protection Principles

These are the six core principles that guide how u99 handles the personal data of all its users every day.

End-to-End Encryption

All data transmitted between your device and u99's servers is protected with TLS 1.3 encryption. This means no third party – including your internet service provider – can read your sensitive information.

Secure Data Storage

Your personal data is stored on servers protected by multi-layer access controls. Only authorised staff with a legitimate need may access specific user records.

No Sale of Data to Third Parties

U99 does not sell, rent, or disclose users' personal data to advertisers, analytics companies, or any commercial third party for marketing purposes without your consent.

You Control Your Data

You have the right to access, correct, download or request deletion of your personal data at any time. Such requests are processed by our privacy team within 30 business days.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of any security incident affecting your data, u99 is committed to notifying you within 72 hours of the incident being detected, in line with industry best practices.

Data Retention Period Limits

U99 retains personal data only for as long as necessary for the original purpose of collection, or as required by law. Data that is no longer needed is securely deleted.

1Introduction & Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how u99 ("we", "our platform") collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects your personal information when you use our platform – whether through the website, Android or iOS mobile app, or any of our official communication channels.

By accessing or using any part of the platform u99, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to read this document in full. If any section is unclear, our support team is ready to help explain it.

This Policy is written in English for the understanding of Malaysia users. It takes effect from 1 January 2026 and supersedes all previous versions of the Privacy Policy.

2Types of Personal Data We Collect

U99 only collects data that is strictly necessary to provide a quality and secure service. We do not collect more than what is needed. The following are the categories of data we collect:

Data You Provide Directly

  • Full name, date of birth, identity card or passport number (for KYC process)
  • Email address and phone number for account communications
  • Home or office address for identity verification
  • Payment method details – we only store the necessary information, not full card numbers
  • Identity document images uploaded during KYC

Data Collected Automatically

  • IP address, device type, operating system and browser version
  • Log data – access times, pages visited, session duration
  • Approximate location data based on IP address (not GPS)
  • Betting activity and transaction records within the platform
Note: u99 does not collect biometric data (fingerprints, facial recognition) server-side. Biometric authentication is processed entirely on your device by the operating system — we do not view or store such data.

  • Transaction processing – processing deposits, withdrawals, and all financial transactions within the platform
  • Legal compliance – fulfilling KYC requirements, anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, and reporting to regulatory authorities
  • Platform security – detecting fraud, suspicious activity, and unauthorised access attempts
  • Customer support – responding to enquiries, resolving complaints, and providing technical assistance

  • Marketing communications – only if you have given consent to receive promotions and offers from u99
  • Responsible wagering – detecting risky betting patterns and providing appropriate assistance

We will not use your data for any purpose other than those stated above without first obtaining your renewed consent.

4Data Sharing with Third Parties

U99 does not sell your personal data. However, there are certain situations where we need to share information with carefully selected third parties:

Trusted Service Providers

We use third-party service providers for certain functions such as payment processing, cloud computing and analytics. All such providers are bound by strict data protection agreements and may only use your data for the purposes specified.

Legal & Regulatory Requirements

U99 may be required to disclose certain information to government authorities, regulatory bodies, or law enforcement agencies where there is a legitimate legal requirement provided for by law.

u99 has never sold, rented, or disclosed user lists to advertisers. If you receive marketing communications claiming to be from u99 but you did not sign up to receive them, please contact our support team to have the matter investigated.

5Data Security Measures We Take

Protecting your personal data is a responsibility we take very seriously. u99 continuously invests in security infrastructure to ensure your data is always protected:

  • 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data communications in transit
  • Data-at-rest encryption for all sensitive information stored in the database
  • Role-based access control – staff can only access data relevant to their responsibilities
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all staff access to internal systems
  • Regular security audits by independent cybersecurity firms
  • Automated 24/7 threat monitoring and intrusion detection
  • Regular data backups and a tested disaster recovery plan
While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. You also play an important role by keeping your password confidential and enabling two-factor authentication on your u99 account.

6Cookies, Tracking Technologies & Your Choices

U99 uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our platform. The following are the types of cookies we use:

  • Essential Cookies – required for core platform functions such as login sessions and security. Cannot be disabled.
  • Functional Cookies – storing your preferences such as language and display settings for a more personalised experience.
  • Analytics Cookies – helping us understand how users interact with the platform so we can make improvements. Data is collected anonymously.

To deliver reliable, high-performance services, some user data may be stored or processed in data centres located outside Malaysia. This includes the use of global cloud infrastructure operated by providers that comply with international security standards.

In all cases of international data transfers, u99 ensures a level of protection equivalent to or higher than that provided in Malaysia. This is implemented through binding data processing agreements with all service providers involved.
